Mei Tai’s

Mei Tai’s – $80

Mei Tai’s originated in China, and are a soft bodied, structured carrier.

Little Tree  Baby mei tai’s consist of a lightly padded body panel-which creates a pouch for baby to sit in; padded waist straps which close with an adjustable buckle and long soft shoulder straps which are brought over the shoulders and back round to tie under baby’s bottom. All outer materials are 100% cotton, and padding is 100% NZ Wool.

LTB mei tai’s are a ‘one size fits most’ carrier, which can be adjusted from a size 8 to a size 16. Even very broad shouldered dads will fit this.

They can be worn on the front or the back, and both carries are suitable for small babies through to larger heavier toddlers. The balanced structure of a mei tai distributes the weight well and also holds the baby in the correct ‘frog like’ position which supports baby’s spine and hip development, unlike the modern ‘crotch danglers’.

    Hi
I’m very interested in getting a Mei Tai soon and just wondered what colour options you have etc. I really like the ‘cinnamon swirl’ in the picture. Also I saw on facebook that someone had recommended some changes/improvements and just wondered if you have implemented any of them yet?
I’m in Christchurch and currently do not have internet and phone so am not able to check emails frequently but look forward to your reply.
    Kind regards,
    Kelly

      Hi Kelly,
Thanks for your interest. I have several color options available, which I can email you if you like. What is your email address?
I have been working on an improved version of my Mei-Tai’s, after some great suggestions from the Babywearing group in Hamilton (who have some of my carriers in thier library) I think the new changes make them just that much more comfy :-)
Hope you are ok down in Chch. We were down there 2 weeks ago visiting family and I have to say I am glad to be home!
      Hear from you soon,
      Sita.
